The Exwell RX (ERX) Profile Running Tool is used to run and set type EXO, EXN, ERO andERN locking mandrels in their respective down hole nipples.The ERX Running tool has the proven dog/core mechanism which release positively fromthe internal fishing neck of the locking mandrel, when set.Internally, a piston is pinned, such that the locking mandrel keys are retracted. The ERXcore is also pinned to the locking mandrel. When the piston is hydraulically activated( at alow pressure), it shears the body pin and moves to a secondary shoulder. This has theeffect of expanding the locking mandrel keys into the locating position. Once the lockingmandrel is located the piston is further hydraulically activated (at a higher pressure), toshear out the secondary shoulder and travel fully. This action will set the locking mandrelinto the nipple profile and retract the dogs of the ERX Running Tool.When the locking mandrel is set, upward jarring will shear the pin holding the lockingmandrel to the core, releasing the ERX Running Tool and confirming the lock is set.
