The B Type Shifting Tool runs with a standard string of wireline tools is used to open or close all of the Sliding Sleeves. The Keys are shaped so that when travelling in one direction, their sloped surface at one end allows them to passthrough the Sliding Sleeve Door. When reverse in the other direction, the 90 degree shoulder or the Keys will engageand shift the Sliding Sleeve. When either the fully open or closed position is reached, Standard Keys are released by no-go on the inclined shoulderinside the Sliding Sleeve Door which forces the Keys inward and disengages them from the Sliding Sleeve. In case if theSliding Sleeve is jam, the pin on the Shifting Tool can be sheared and release the keys from the Closing Sleeve. (The factthat the Shear Pin does not shear is an indication that the Closing Sleeve should be fully positioned.)
