The Exwell Flow Activated Wire Grab is used to retrieve wire after failed wireline operations. Whenrunning, the arms are retained within a sleeve and are released by application of internal pressuredeveloped by flowing through an orifice. When released, the spring loaded arms run against thetubing wall ensuringthatthe wireline will entangle inside the prongs of the Grab. The arms can be expanded and retracted any number of times down hole, The advantage of this Grabover the more conventional tool is thatthe Grab will not pass through the centre of the wire coils if theline has not been balled correctly using the Wire finder. Also being flow activated, it will pass throughrestricted internal diameters of nipples etc. and then expanding into larger internal diameters furtherdownhole.
